Klippan Wool Blanket - Scandinavian Home Decor

Merry Christmas once again! I'd like to share the gift I received from my husband this year which is this gorgeous wool Klippan blanket!

Back in October we were traveling in Japan when I came across this line of Swedish wool blankets in a department store. I adore Scandinavian home decor so looking at all the beautiful prints in this range made me so excited! Of course wool blankets are an investment so I made myself walk away and not purchase one.

My lovely husband kept it in mind though and snuck back to buy it and hid it in his suitcase until Christmas!

I was so surprised to see he had remember it when I opened the box on Christmas morning! This one in particular is actually a children's one so it's slightly smaller than the regular blankets. I have a love for blue and polar bears too, so I absolutely adore it. It looks so nice at the foot of our bed and I love the bright red stitching around its edge. In the future when we decide to have kids, I think this will be perfect for a little boy or little girls bedroom!

I think it makes a great addition to our home and will always remind me of our time in his hometown, Sapporo.

Japan Travel Photography Book

This year my main gift to my parents was a hard cover book I designed using all the photos I took on our trip together to Japan!

I really wanted to document our travels across Japan because it was such a special trip to be sharing with my parents. I wanted to give them a physical copy of our photos so that they wouldn't in time get lost and forgotten on our computers. Blurb is a fantastic website that makes putting together a book so easy and the end result is very rewarding because it looks really professional. It's definitely a step above sticking photos into an album!

I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and I hope this inspires you to make the effort in preserving your photos too!

Ice Blue Holiday Look | Alexis Bittar

I'm very much a home body so during the winter my favourite way to spend the weekend is by strolling through cute shops. In the evenings I enjoy the twinkling lights and then returning home and curling up to watch a movie with the hubby and a big cup of hot chocolate! But then there's the holiday parties that I just adore. They always convince me to go out into the cold winter night because it's the one time of year where I can get all glammed up and I get to see Shinji looking smart in a suit too!

This year's holiday look all started when I found this Free People dress while shopping with my mum in Nordstrom. The blue grey hue obviously caught my eye right away and then I fell in love with it's flowly draping. It falls just above my ankles and the open draped shoulders remind of something a sugar plum fairy would wear!

Alexis Bittar is my favourite jewellery designer for any party look. His lucite pieces glow and pick up the light beautifully. I went into my jewellery box and stacked on four lucite bangles of varying icey shades and paired them with off white lucite drop earrings that twinkle with scattered crystals. I would of perferred if the earrings were white but I couldn't be too bothered! Work with what you have!

I spritzed my signature Jo Malone Wood Sage and Sea Salt perfume on and went bold with a deep plum lip (MAC party line lipstick) and my classic black winged eye liner.

Lastly, I stepped into my bridal shoes that I haven't worn since the big day! I only have 2 pairs of evening shoes, black strappy ones and these midnight blue satin d'orsay heels. Again I don't know if they were a perfect pair for the outfit but I think it fits in with all the shades of blue?!

I hope you all have fun with the festive parties and get togethers this month!
